[Everything doTERRA] old burn scar

I have a friend who was burned on her leg a few years ago. She
was 13 at the time and didn't really follow the protocol given to her;
it didn't heal well. Now the scar has faded a bit and doesn't look too
bad, but she has a spot, about the size of a pea, that is raised and
feels like a solid mass under her skin. She says it is painful. I
think this is keloid? scarring, but my other experience with keloid
scarring was extremely red and angry looking. The Dr. suggested
surgical removal, but her mom would like to try other options first.
Off the top of my head I mentioned helichrysom. They are happy to try
that, but since this is their first experience with oil I want to make
sure to give the best suggestion. Does anybody have any experience
here?
Also, the mom has pretty severe age spots on her face. She said
she has tried everything and nothing has helped. I thought helichrysom
might be helpful in that issue also. She is dark complected, from
south america, I don't know if that has any bearing on the issue or
not.
Thanks!
