Re: [Everything doTERRA] Infant with BM Difficulties

The baby needs probiotics.  Likely he had antibiotics during the birth via the mother if it was C-Section or while he was in the hospital and now he has no good bacteria to help him with the bowel movements.  This is quite typical.

There was a thread recently about Digestzen and babies.  If I remember correctly it was one drop in some FCO under the bellybutton.  Definitely worth a try!

The parents may want to look into using unpasteurized goat's milk for the baby if it's available.  Cow's milk is not really suitable for humans.  It's far too difficult to digest unless it is cultured.  I am assuming when I say this that the mother is not breastfeeding since the child is eating food.  If she still has breast milk that seems like the obvious solution though.  Just feed more often to increase milk supply.  It's exactly what he needs.  Species specific food.  Maybe a surrogate?

I would also massage the baby (get a book on baby massage) and also hold him on his belly so that the hand is covering the belly with the baby facedown kind of suspended.  Hard to describe but I did this with my daughter and it worked beautifully every time she was crying.  There's a photo in the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding book by La Leche League that shows how to do it.

Keep us posted please.

making that change did not help at all.  Do you have any suggestions?
Our research suggests Digestzen but is there something better we
should try?
