And Dan, I think you're expecting too much from your initial
contacts. Very few people are going to buy products from an e-mail or
letter. The whole reason doTerra went with direct marketing instead
of traditional marketing is because the oils need to be experienced
for someone to be "sold" on them. My initial contacts are all geared
on getting the people to want to experience the oils, whether coming
to a class, doing a one-on-one, or accepting some samples. Did you
know that 60% of all business takes place after the 4th interaction?
You need to work with people, especially when you're introducing such
an unknown concept to them. I'd focus less on the science behind the
product (although there's plenty of that) and more on problem-
solving. What can my product do for you? Try it and see. I know
that's not a natural approach for you, but many, many people have been
successful by following that pattern.
