After reading that article, I'd recommend checking with your doctor because apparently it depends on whether or not you're on an estrogen based birth control pill. If you are, I'd recommend changing it to one that isn't because increased levels of estrogen like this would be a concern that they may lead to estrogen-driven cancers in the future. In the meantime, you may want to stop the S&S or take it down to a small amount.
Your concerns are valid.
