I just created this for my facebook page and thought you may want to
pass it around to y our Australian team. I think a lot of people are
in shock and not really thinking clearly. I remember the pictures that
came out after Katrina and they were so moldy. This is like that. It's
hot and humid here, flooded and just a mess. Many places still don't
have power.
I heard about people who went to help with cleanup just yesterday and
started to get sick so that is why I put out this guide. Please pass
it on to as many people as possible. Feel free to put your contact

Mould Clean Up Safety Guide

The water that has moved through Brisbane and flooded people's homes
and businesses is full of lots of bacteria, sewage, dead animal
remains plus lots of other things we don't even want begin to imagine
right now. It is hot and humid out there it is all starting to fester
and smell, which means it's creating a dangerous situation for
breathing as well as touching. If you are smelling something gross it
means that the stuff I talked about earlier is in tiny little
particles and it is being breathed into your nose, mouth and lungs.
Here are a few things you can do to keep your family and yourself safe
and healthy during this dangerous time of clean up.
I use doTERRA essential oils because they are Certified Pure
Therapeutic Grade oils. You can take them internally as well we use
them externally, so you know that they are 100% pure. You may use
other essential oils for the recipes below, but please don't take any
random essential oil internally, only use CPTG Certified Pure
therapeutic grade oils on your skin and internally for the health and
safety of your family.
Mould:
If you are in an area with lots of mould, wear a paper mask with a
drop or two of Melaleuca Alternifolia (also known as tea tree oil) on
it. The tea tree will help to kill any mould before it gets into your
lungs. There were many people with lung problems after the Hurricane
Katrina hit the States and people were cleaning up after the mould. I
have seen people going into these houses with Hazardous Material suits
on to protect them from the mould. This is a very serious issue.
People can and have died from mould infecting the lungs. (This
especially affects the elderly, babies and young children.)
Allergies to mould can cause:
* Sneezing
* Chronic cough
* Runny nose
* Nasal congestion
* Itchy, watery and red eyes
* Skin rashes and hives
* Sinus headaches
* Reduced lung capacity and difficulty breathing.
Symptoms of toxic mould poisoning are
* Coughing up blood.
* Nose bleeds.
* Dizziness
* Nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea
* Chest congestion
* Difficulty breathing
* Anemia
* Skin rashes
* Forgetfulness and memory loss
* Pulmonary haemorrhage
* Death.
After the mould has been cleaned up and it cannot be seen by the naked
eye there still may be spores in the air. Use an oil burner or
diffuser with some water and some drops of tea tea or the On Guard
Blend I recommend below. These oils will go into the air and kill any
moulds still floating around.
Clean Water:
If you are unsure about the water safety in your area please boil your
water before drinking it. After it cools you can also put a drop or
two of CPTG Lemon Essential Oil in it. It tastes good, it will kill
off anything the boiling left behind and allow you to drink the water
safely. Camping supply stores have water purifiers for camping, those
also may be a good option. There are tablets of iodine you can put
into the water, but Lemon essential oil does the same thing and is so
much yummier…
Clean up recipes:
Here is a list of oils that they used in the days of the Black Plague
to help from getting sick. It was actually discovered because there
were thieves that would go into plague ridden houses and steal from
the people and not get sick. They were captured by police and when
questioned here is the oils they said they used to make sure they
stayed Plague free.
Lemon
Clove Bud
Cinnamon
Eucalyptus
Rosemary
These herbs were put into vinegar for 6 weeks until they infused into
the vinegar. Today we don't have time for that so we use Essential
oils. You can buy all these oils separately, or you can buy an already
made blend called On Guard by doTERRA. It only takes 20 drops in a
spray bottle of white vinegar shake it up and it becomes an
antibacterial and anti-fungal, cleansing solution for you and your
house to keep everything healthy and clean.
If you start to feel ill you can also take these drops internally to
help boost your immune system. The oils will get rid of any viruses or
pathogens in the stomach and blood stream.
When it comes to safety and the health of my family and me I don't
mess around. These oils are what I use in my very own home and that is
why I am recommending them to you.
