Re: [Everything doTERRA] bladder infection/blood thinners

I am printing a result of a scientific study regarding Cranberry Juice. It reminds me of the time when there were a lot of articles out there that coconut oil was bad for us and avocados should not be eaten when watching your cholesterol.
I hold with my suggestion for the oils and cranberry juice, as with anything "moderation in all things". There is no proof that cranberry juice is bad for us when taking blood thinners. But it sure will help the bladder infection.

Pasted article:

A clinical study by researchers at Tufts, for example, found no evidence that cranberry juice enhanced warfarin's effects. Nor did a separate study in 2007 that tested the effects of drinking about seven ounces of cranberry juice a day in people taking warfarin.

Dr. Jack Ansell, chairman of the department of medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, and some colleagues found in a randomized, double-blind study that patients on warfarin who drank up to eight ounces of cranberry juice a day had no greater risk of bleeding than those given a placebo.

Rindee's reply is great also. No cranberry juice, just a powerful blend of oregano. Now that the cranberry thing is our there, they may feel more comfortable with the oils alone. They certainly can work.

I also understand Shelley's comment regarding Cranberry juice. It was out there for a small amount of time and if I had read it without seeing the follow up reports I would have also replied. We can never be to careful and I would rather say it than not put the warning out there.

thanks everyone.

I'm fairly certain a person on blood thinners should NOT drink cranberry juice, so you might not want to advise them to do that.  (I think they say a very small quantity is okay, but best to avoid cranberry juice altogether.)

I would begin taking capsules, size 00 with the following oils:
12 drops OnGuard
6 drops Oregano
2 drops Frankincense

Take these capsules three times a day with raw cranberry juice. Not sweetened, 100% pure from a health food store. It's very bitter but the antibiotice mix and Cranberry should be very effective.  Once the pain is gone and you feel better keep taking the blend for a few days so the infection does not come back.

Any personal/other people's experiences with treating a bladder infection? The person is also on blood thinners. What should she do?
Thanks,
