I'm fairly certain a person on blood thinners should NOT drink cranberry juice, so you might not want to advise them to do that.  (I think they say a very small quantity is okay, but best to avoid cranberry juice altogether.)

I would begin taking capsules, size 00 with the following oils:
12 drops OnGuard
6 drops Oregano
2 drops Frankincense
 
Take these capsules three times a day with raw cranberry juice. Not sweetened, 100% pure from a health food store. It's very bitter but the antibiotice mix and Cranberry should be very effective.  Once the pain is gone and you feel better keep taking the blend for a few days so the infection does not come back.
