[Everything doTERRA] Re: Rash after a bath

Hi Geneve,
My 9 yr old had this for a while as well. We have a water softener
and found it was out of pellets, so once we replenished, it was much
better but didn't resolve it completely. In trying to figure it out,
however, I read much about it on the internet. I found and tested a
few things out. 1) always bathe at night, (it was always worse in the
morning when her circulation wasn't as active yet, for example, she
would sometimes shower right after getting up before school), this
helped us immensely. 2) one suggestion I found was to avoid towel
drying the irritated area, which was only the legs for us as well. It
recommended using a blow dryer on low heat to dry the area-this helped
as well. 3) lastly,, it recommended a bath vs. shower, when
possible. My daughter always showers so this was not practical for
us, generally, but I do think that helped, when we had time at night.
Anyway, good luck! Even lotions (Neutrogena's lotion-for itchy/
sensitive skin) right after bathing for us was worse than doing
nothing, except I did put a drop of lavender and peppermint in a baby
lotion which helped a little as well sometimes.
We never did truly figure it out, and it seems to last for months on
end, but it's better now- so I think she is outgrowing it.
My daughter too, has somewhat sensitive skin, but can always tolerate
Melaluca and Lavender.
