If you look in the reference book, you'll see the caution "not for children under 6 years old" under a lot of the oils. The very biggest reason for this is, as with any disclaimer, to protect the giver of the information. There is not a lot of clinical research with babies and young children. But when we use common sense, we understand to use minute quantities with our little people. A statement that is included on much of the oil info I share: "Some references say to avoid use during pregnancy or for small children; we have found no research to support that claim." Become a researcher. You will be surprised how quickly the language in the studies becomes familiar for you.

Bottom line: our doTERRA oils are the safest choice for our babies of all ages. They provide tools for healing and bring balance to the body. We're simply required to use some common sense and intuition, and keep ourselves from the pits of fear.

I am not positive about this but Marjoram helps to lower blood pressure and you

would not want to do that to a small child.

ok, this works like a charm every time! My 2 year old since she was really little, any time some one in the house would get a cold, she would wake up in the middle of the night with croup, never failed! So when I got the oils, I read marjoram and thyme, I didn't have those so I used breathe thinking that would help, but it  made her cough more, so I obtained marjoram and thyme. I drop one drop of coconut oil marjoram and thyme in the palm of my hand go in her room and rub it on her chest and she never croup coughs again! Then the next morning we put on gaurd and oregano and thyme on her feet and she is good to go!
marjoram shouldn't be taken interally with children under 6 years, but I don't think it should be a problem topically, I would do it.
