[Everything doTERRA] Re: Soap Recipe

homemade soap from scratch has to have lye or it could not be soap.
Lye mixed with the oils creates a chemical reaction called
saponification . After the the curing or cooking process, depending
which soap making method you are using, the lye no longer exists in
the soap. It is an amazing thing to make soap, but you do have to be
very careful while using the lye. I only make soap when I am home
alone. If you want to eliminate the risks of having lye around your
house you can just bypass that step and buy melt and pour blocks and
add your own essential oils and additives.

Here is a soap making blog that gives a lot of good info.
